Guest guest
Hari Om brothers and sisters, May my head rest always under Her Divine Feet ! By Her grace I am well here, firstly the simplified version can be obtained from Kali Mandir website (I do not know the price now )but if you want more info please inform me . Brother ,do not worry that you are not a Hindu , our Ma do not see you outer layer but only your inner self .We are all Her children , and She loves us all dearly!!! Can we share the rituals that we conduct in our way of worship to understand the diverse methods available to go closer to Her ? As Bhagawan Ramakrishna Paramahamsa have said Ma cooks different type of dishes to suit different taste of Her children.Truth is one and paths are many .Could we share all our way of worship no matter how big or small they are . Every worship brings us closer to Her even if it is as simple as offering a leaf to Her. That is why the Geeta states whatever that is offered to Krsna with love and sincerity will bear its fruit. Thus ,I beleive we could share the way we worship Her and why according to our own understanding. We must remember all this rituals are neccesary so long it cultivates love and sincerity towards our Mother and when the spritual aspirant is a fit spritual dynamo, thenthe rituals will drop of as Bhagawan Ramakrsna says like the husk falling way from the rice after the rice have matured itself. I could start with simplified version. Feedback anybody ? I hope to learn a simplified puja that I can do as well, but for now She has my love and devotion. peace and blessings, Seadna Check out Shopping and Auctions for all of your unique holiday gifts! Guest guest
I read long descriptions of Durga Puja as performed in Calcutta and the Kali Puja as done at the big temple in Dakshineswar. These are huge festivals, very elaborate. I hope I get a chance to visit India and see them some time. Are there shorter rituals that you can do every day? Like maybe a short prayer you can say every morning? Or before each meal? Sister Yvonne

Guest guest
> Are there shorter rituals that you can do every day? Like maybe a > short prayer you can say every morning? Or before each meal? Prayer to the Dawn (Ancient Vedic Prayer from India) Like a youthful maiden, Dawn shines brightly forth Stirring to motion every living creature. Divine fire was kindled for the use of men; Dawn created light, driving away the dark. Sending out her beams, she rose up facing all, in brilliant robes, resplendent, radiating - Golden-colored and glorious to behold, Mother of plenty, mistress of the days she shone. Blessed, bearing the sun, the eyes of the Godess, Leading her white horse, magnificent to see, Dawn reveals herself, arrayed in beams of light And with boundless glory she transforms the world. O fair one, banish the enemy with light ! And prepare for us broad pastures free from fear ! Ward off hatred, bring us your priceless treasure ! O bountiful, shower blessings on the singer ! Illumine us with your glorious splendor, O divine Dawn ! Enrich and lengthen our lives, O Goddess full of grace ! Grant us fulfillment And cows, horses, and chariots in abundance ! O Daughter of Heaven, Dawn of noble birth, Whom the men of glory celebrate in hymns, Establish in us wealth sublime and mighty ! O Godess, protect us always with your blessings ! Or before each meal? Kochu replies : Just bow to urself morning and eve and before food; bow to the food as all are part of the same universe that is Devi I agree with Kochu. Why not brings our daily routine as Sadhana. Somebody told me that once you start the Lalitha Upasana, everything you do becomes an Upasana. The breathing in and out is Upasana; even going to the toilet is Upasana [which make sense. I mean if your body says: you have this loads of faecal matter and its need to be emptied, you have the duty to empty it other wise it will cause harm to your body], your relationship with your family & others is Upasana and even your sexual relationship with your spouse too is Upasana. We can't afford to sit for hours in the pooja room doing japa or meditation especially for householder. We are not superman or like Shri Ramakrishna, or a genius like Swami Sivananda, but that does not mean that we cannot achieve the impossible. Even a five minute thought of DEVI with full concentration is better than hours of meditation with your mind wondering about something else.
