Guest guest
Hello again. First, please let me apologize for my part in the Hitler argument. I was just trying to defend my aunt, that is all. I love her very much. Sorry if I got too worked up about that. Second, I wand to ask another question. I understand that Hinduism is not a single unified system of worship but rather a complex mix of different faiths. Worship in one part of India is very different from in another part, and even within a single city there are differences between social strata. I get all of this. When I first signed up for this list, I figured that this Shaktism was one variety of Hinduism. I assumed that within this one group I would find fairly uniform beliefs and practices. The answers to a few of my previous questions made me doubt that, that Shaktism too comes in different varieties. Is this correct? What sorts of variations are there? I would like to learn whatever I can about each variety. Namaste and Jai Ma! Sister Yvonne
Guest guest
I think the two great divisions of Shaktism are the school of Lalita Tripura worship and the school of Kali worship. It is also a difference if one follows the Samayachara which is vedic or the Kulachara which uses the five m's. Kali I have learned about from my Auntie Usha, who has been worshipping Kali all her life. Lalita Tripura I'm not familiar with. Any suggestions where I can look up more info on this?
