Guest guest
Too right, Prainbow ... The other day, I wanted to check for when the bright half of the upcoming lunar month will occur (it's Jan 21 thru 29). I checked my new 2004 daily calendar, only to discover there were no moon phases given on the calendar (And I used to think that those little moon faces were de riguer on calendars!:-( ). Well, so I peeked into my colleagues offices, trying to find a calendar with moon phases on it -- the fourth one I looked at did ... but, what the hey? Is it really so rare to find someone who's actually interested in such information? The other day, the U.S.'s Fearless Leader, Bush II, made his speech about starting colonies on the moon and sending astronauts to Mars -- I guess after the next ten or twelve generations of taxpayers repay his "Iraq War" debts -- and all of the major news outlets gave him serious time. It struck me as a sad sign of the times: We get all excited about the idea of "conquering" the moon, but have apparently grown tired of heeding her rhythms, her lessons, her movement. How symbolic; guy is totally unenlightened and always in the dark. Sister Yvonne

But I do have one request thought, I believe that we should all stop all these name calling. I dont really care what you think about Bush but I think so your latest statement about him shouldn't be here. If you really want to learn and are honest about it, then this should stop. Guest guest
Hi Yvonne: Please do not take Nora's reply too hard. She is simply trying to keep the list "on topic," as I was attempting to do the other day, regarding the Hitler thread. You see, our assumption is that people come to the group to discuss (or read discussions of) Devi. If we stray too far and/or too often from that purpose, we're not "giving the people what they want" ... or so we must suppose? Anyway, this necessity of keeping the list on topic sometimes forces the moderators to act as spoilers. We're honestly not a bunch of po- faced gits in real life! Well, I hope we're not anyway. For what it's worth, your Bush & the Moon post gave me a good laugh. And I need a good laugh on "State of the Union Address" night! I actually hadn't thought of the appropriatebess of the circumstance you point out: That Bush speaks on the darkest night of the lunar month ... the furthest point from the open light of the full moon. A time of murky shadows; perfect for those who want to deceive, keep secrets, cover their tracks, and lie ... And lies, I assume, is what this speech will consist of. Lies are what this un-elected President sells (unless he has suddenly changed his ways); and I am not particularly interested in buying them. Better to turn off the damned radio and TV, and cleanse your local air with Devi chants ... as we wait for the light to return again in full, as it always does at last. Guest guest
Thanx, Devi Bhakta. You guys own this list and you guys set the rules. I shall try to limit my comments to something having to do with the Devi. Even my humor. Question: How many devis does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: Devis shine from the Divine Light within and don't need light bulbs. Is that better? As for Bush, I figured that everybody on the planet is affected by him and the lies he tells. Poking fun at somebody like that is better than hurling a vitrolic diatribe against him (which I have done on Auntie Usha's list). But as I said, you guys own this list and have a right to run it the way you want. Sister Yvonne
