Guest guest
Pranam, May the moderator please let me know if the Devi in the homepage (recent update) is from a temple or from a house. A little description of the Devi would also be very much helpful. Om Sakthi, Sai.
Guest guest
Pranam Sai ... The upper picture is of course Durga Devi in Her role as Mahishasura Mardini. This rendering is especially nice I think, and very powerful. It is from my home; I just purchased it a month or two ago. It convincingly images the Devi Mahatmyam's assertion that the battle took place not on the earth, nor in the sky, but between the two ... The lower photo -- which is, I assume, the one you're probably asking about -- is from a temple, not a home. The temple is the Sri Meru Nilaya in Devipuram, near Vizag, in Andhra Pradesh. The devi shown here is Amritakarshini, one of the 108 devis described in the Sri Devi Khadga Mala Stotram. I have contacted Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati of Devipuram to inform him of your query. He may wish to offer further commentary. Guest guest
Pranam Devi_bhakta, Can you please explain me if there is any significance for Gaytri Devi being at the back of Amritakarshini. Guest guest
Pranam Sai: I am not sure that there is any particular significance. But I have conveyed your query to Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati, in case he wishes to explain further.
