Guest guest
No offence intended OK? are we not aping too much by wishing "happy whatever"? The "happy" something happens for a hiliday - be happy and carefree on a holiday and enjoy it is the meaning. For us religious dates are not "happy & carefree". They are very serious days to perform austerities and contemplate the infinite in all its majesty and greatness. so whats so "happy" about it? No amount of wishing by friends will bring about blessings from the infinite. its something the individual has to work hard for and obtain. so there too the wishing business has no place. Am I being too dour? I dunno. Kochu Madan Mohan <jadu_s2002 wrote: Namaste! Pranams. Happy Maha Shivaratri! Let Bhagavan Sri Siva bless All of us! Sincerely, Madan Mohan. Guest guest
Beloved Sankara, Yes. You are being too dour. Holidays, like any other day, are meant for celebrating life and the divine. Austerities will not lead you to the infinite, neither will contemplation. Only the bliss of devotion and the stillness of meditation will do that. Shiva Ratri is not a holiday. It is a working day(in a spiritual sense).

Concerning a word “happy” I invest here sense, that all planned and going, has come to pass without obstacles and problems. That all obstacles have been removed, and all blessed have been received in all completeness. > The "happy" something happens for a hiliday - be > happy and carefree on a holiday and enjoy it is the > meaning. I personally do not celebrate any holidays (such as day of independence and ….). For me is one holidays- religious, these days when our opportunity even more to plunge into Bhagawan. > For us religious dates are not "happy & carefree". > They are very serious days to perform austerities > and contemplate the infinite in all its majesty and > greatness. so whats so "happy" about it? For us? Who are us? For me a holiday is not work which I carry out with feeling of the debt and a duty. It is not duty!!!! For me religious holiday is special day, when all my feelings and emotions are sacrificed to Bhagawan. This day is natural to test pleasure and happiness, because this day I feel inspiration and optimism even more, for me. Why not, person cannot feel pleasure of that it, can show the love to whom aspires all soul even more. For me, religious days are very significant and important; this day is possible to reach much. But!!!! Everything, that I do these days joyfully for me, I do it with love to Bhagawan instead because I do it with love, but not with duty. If these days so are strict and burdensome, can, all to put on black clothes and to go as slaves? Why in India on all religious holidays, people dress bright and beautiful clothes? Why they are pleased? Because they want to please the God! The spiritual life should bring pleasure, but to not be routine .. Clearly, that gravity should be, differently all can appear levity. But!!!! If all correctly to do spirituality will bring pleasure. Otherwise it will remind a sansara, but in other form. All should be natural. > No amount of wishing by friends will bring about > blessings from the infinite. its something the > individual has to work hard for and obtain. so there > too the wishing business has no place. I agree, that for other you will not reach Bhagawan. But other person can wish success and blessing on his spiritual way. It is possible to wish enthusiasm and inspiration in searches of the God. Wishes of success on a spiritual way is possible to wish, that the person gave itself to spirituality and the God even more. > Am I being too dour? I dunno. > > Kochu It can be. But this mine IMHO. Hope me too. Sincerely, Madan Mohan. P.S. English language very poor, in English is not advanced figurative dialogue. And there are not enough words what to express, that you want to tell. > > Madan Mohan <jadu_s2002 wrote: > Namaste! > > Pranams. > > > Happy Maha Shivaratri! > > Let Bhagavan Sri Siva bless All of us! > > Sincerely, Madan Mohan. > > > > > Mail SpamGuard - Read only the mail you want. > > > > > > > Mail SpamGuard - Read only the mail you want. > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > > Sponsor > Click Here > > > Links > > > / > > > > > Your use of is subject to the > > > > > > > Mail SpamGuard - Read only the mail you want. > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > Mail SpamGuard - Read only the mail you want. http://antispam./tools

We can be happy if we have the time to do the austerities. What if for those who really want but couldnt because of work commitment etc. What there is to be happy about. Make it hard or make it easy...but please make it with devotion. Soma
