The text is intended to be the followed only by Indians who belong to the community who do not wear the sacred thread, i.e, non-dvijas and by non Indians. If Indians belonging to the 3 communities who wear the sacred thread follow the injunctions of this tantra, they will accrue sin or say spiritual demerit. However, the rest of Indians and all non-Indians can follow the teachings of this text and acquire spiritual merit. There is another thing to consider: 1)Some of these tantras are not intended to be followed at present. They are prescribed for people belonging to a different time in the cosmos. However if one finds a guru(not western tantric sex teachers) who preaches these they may follow him with caution. 2)The teachings in the text are not meant to be followed by each and every one(see above) who are supposed to follow this text. The rites are only for those who reach a certain spiritual maturity(determined by their Guru) and work as the tantra itself says,only when one is properly initiated into Shakti mantra.
