Meaning:

The backwaters which is full of hill like large tides

and boats, and the surrounding gardens spread the

fragrance - such cIr kAzi, in which the things to be

thought about - the six angas and four vedas - have

been kept (in esteem). By the muni of wisdom

(cambandhar), in rhythm with the beats, sitting on the

back of father, the song of enchanting melody that was

told, when the n^anipaLLi of our Father, Who dances

in the mid-night, is thought with melting heart, the

destruction of the vinai (karma) is certain. We swear

!

 

Notes:

1. cambandhar was invited by the residents of

thirunanipaLLi, the place of his mother -

bhagavathiyAr. He went and sang the Lord there making

the pAlai to neythal. The very young child cambandhar

sat on the back of his father and went. This is

indicated in this thirukkaDFaikkAppu.

2. Otham - tide; aththar - father; piyan -

shoulder/back; panuval - song.
