Guest guest
Hello. Me again, Yvonne from America. Can you please do me the favor of describing for me how you guys do weddings? Two friends of mine are getting married in June and are looking for suggestions on how to do the ceremony. Thanx. Yvonne
Guest guest
Hi Yvonne" There are no specifically "Shakta" wedding rites that I know of. It is simply (or I should say, "complexly") a variety of Hindu wedding. To give you some idea of the cosmic significance of that, I'd urge you to read Guruji's incredible article on the subject: http://gurujiamrita.tripod.com/vedic_marriage.htm Hope that helps DB , "Yvonne" <aw621@o...> wrote: > Hello. Guest guest
Just my 2 pence *smile* For Nairs of Kerala marriage was a pure social contract with no religious significance severable at the will of either of the partners. Guest guest
I shall tell you how the nairs of Kerala who are purely shaktas used to have the marriage. The bridegroom along with a friend or relative comes to the house of the ride in the evening and around 10-11 PM presents the bride witha piece of cloth, a small cup full of coconut oil and 10 rupees (thats about 25 cents) to the bride and the bride accepts andthey retire to the bed room. Even now with all the outdated victorian morals the Nair marriage is less than5 mts. Kochu Yvonne <aw621 wrote: Hello. Me again, Yvonne from America.
