Guest guest
no special mantra is required. Just call HER and tell her in your language that so-and-so needs a baby. will you give them a good baby? and she will immediatly give. But I guess there are not many ppl now who know how to perform that rite. Practically speaking, Kochu's advice would make more sense. You may also want to note that, great rishis when they thought of begettting children practiced austerities with a sankalpa for a certain period of time before they actually started trying to "concieve". There are ppl even these days who undergo some penance b4 concieving children. So you may want to consider that. Rgds
Guest guest
Medhaji, Chanting the Sri Lalita Sahasranama (1000 names of the Divine Mother) is reputed to have many, many, many benefits, to those who chant it, those it is chanted for, and is considered a great blessing to the place it is chanted in. In the statement of benefits, it says, "Barren women get the gift of children by taking ghee that has been made potent by the chanting of Lalita Sahasranama." The entire mantra, with commentary and meditation verses, can be found in the book "The Thousand Names of the Divine Mother, Sri Lalita Sahasranama," and can be ordered by calling (510) 537-9417. I chant this mantra regularly and can attest to it's miraculous blessings! Jai Ma! Also, pray to Devi. She is very good at responding to our sincere love and devotion. Above is a prayoga. It requires one to be initiated into Panchadashakshari and be a Puraschanarana Siddha to be able to do above and for it to work. Such prayogas should not be done without a purascharana of related mantras. Depending on the mantra it may incur the curse of the devata. This is true not just for above but for any prayoga. Millions of Amma's shishyas all over the world can attest to its miraculous effect. In fact all the world should start chanting this divine scripture for worldly and spiritual progress. > Above is a prayoga. Guest guest
Pranams, I disagree. The following quote can be found in the introduction to the book I mentioned. "Worship of Sri Chakra, chanting the fifteen syllabled mantra (pancadasaksari), and chanting the Lalita Sahasranama are three main ingredients of Sakti worship. While the Sahasranama is indispensable for those who do Sri Chakra puja and chant the Pancadasaksari, the Sahasranama can be chanted by itself. Brahmanda Purana says that chanting the Sahasranama gives the benefits of the other two observances. "Chanting the Sahasranama is a spiritual practice that strengthens devotion and can be followed by everyone, man or woman, young or old, at any time. It is desirable to set apart a fixed time for daily chanting or archana. "Even though many differant benefits are indicated to accrue from the Sahasranama, it is best to do the worship just for obtaining love of God, wisdom and dispassion. Worship with no desire for results will actually bring an end to the struggles arising from prarabdha and result in all desirable benefits. The Mother of the Universe who is full of love for those who take refuge in Her will never forsake anyone coming to Her with unwavering devotion. What higher good fortune is there than being able to be the object of the kindness of the Mother whose heart is always melting with compassion and to enjoy the nectar of Her motherly love as an innocent child in Her lap?" -Brahmachari Brahmamrita Chaitanya "The Thousand Names of the Divine Mother" On a personal note, I myself, and many people I know personally, chant LS on a regular basis, and I assure you no harm will come from it's chanting. The only side-effects I have ever experienced or heard of are increased bhakti (devotion), peace of mind, and a more compassionate and loving heart. Devi could not possibly take revenge on those who offer Her their sincere love and devotion. It is not a Mother's nature to punish Her children for loving Her. May She shower us all with love and affection, Brianna --- Satish Arigela <satisharigela wrote: > , Brianna > Mosteller > <rubyrapunzel> wrote: > > Medhaji, > > In the statement of benefits, it > > says, "Barren women get the gift of children by > taking > > ghee that has been made potent by the chanting of > > Lalita Sahasranama." > > Above is a prayoga. The question is not if it will harm. Even if one benefits from chanting it is improper to do so coz of the injunction. >The only > side-effects I have ever experienced or heard of are > increased bhakti (devotion), peace of mind, and a more > compassionate and loving heart. If you remember well, my post was in response to your mentioning of a certain prayoga and not with chanting of LS itself. Plz refer to ur 1st post in this thread and my response to that. Whether LS can be chanted without initiation or not is a different question which I did not address in this thread. What I addressed is your mention of a certain prayoga and the propriety of that Prayoga without purascharana. > Devi could not > possibly take revenge on those who offer Her their > sincere love and devotion. It is not a Mother's nature > to punish Her children for loving Her. The one who does the prayoga(remember- i am taking about the prayoga mentioned, not LS chanting in itself) inappropriately will harm himself. Devi will not punish or reward anyone. She is only sakshi to one's karmas. Guest guest
Thanks to all of you who responded to my inquiry. As always, I have learned much. It is helpful when there are different points of view and suggestions. This allows one to make informed choices. Peace and love to all.
