Guest guest
I wish to recommend a book that I discovered recently. Author is Mariel Hemingway. Title is Finding My Balance. It was published in 2003 by Simon & Schuster of New York. Mariel comes from a very famous but very troubled family. Her grandfather, Ernest, was a famous writer. He traveled to many countries and wrote famous stories such as Snows of Kilimanjaro and The Old Man and the Sea. Yet he had a difficult personal life, with four divorces and eventual suicide. Mariel's sister, Margaux, was a famous Hollywood actor. But she indulged in drugs and alcohol and other self-destructive practices, and eventually died as a result. The third sister, Muffet, had serious emotional instability, as did their father. Their mother openly hated their father. Thus Mariel was surrounded by trouble. How to cope with such enormous difficulties? Yoga. Mariel studied yoga intently and now teaches it. Yogic practices have helped her remain calm and focused when everyone around her was acting crazy. In the book, she explains how she was able to use yoga to prevent from happening to her the sorts of tragedies that happened to everyone else in her family. In this way, she was able to help the others, to bring strength and comfort to her kin when they needed it. Copies of the book are available inexpensively at www.abebooks.com .
