Guest guest
93 Greetings! I have no idea about "Tarka-karika", but i guess i may be right. Some Puranas (as i remember, Padma-, for example) name tantra, pashupata, pancharatra etc as being pashanda (heretic) and veda-bahya. Same view about yoga, tantra and alike had Dayananda Sarasvati, a profound vedic scholar. Devi Bhagavata Purana talks about tantras which are opposed to vedas and tantras which are not. It says that dvijas should accept only those tantras which are in conformity with veda and those tantras which are not so are for ppl other than dvijas. Tantras say about themselves that some are veda bahya and that some or not. Linga Purana has a chapter titled "tantrokta Shiva puja vidhi", not to mention Kalika Purana. I read elsewhere that Kurma Purana has a lot of tantric material. Ashtanga Yoga is dealt with in a couple of puranic works. SA.
