When I send a letter to an Indian Temple and want the high-priest to get it,

what do I have to write on the envelope?

How do I address the high-priest, with "Dear Sir"?

The common term of respectful address throughout India, is "Shree." It

can also be transliterated as Shri, and Sri, and is applicable to both

men and women (or deities!). It means "respected" or "honorable." I

would receive letters from India addressed to "Shree Len Rosenberg" (my

legal name).

I sent the following to Shri Len initially. On his suggestion I am

forwarding this to the list.

Chiranjeevi is sometimes abbreviated as Chy., and Kumari as Kum.
