someone gave to me a gold kali yantra as a gift, which i have on my

alter. i also have a sri yantra as well. i have come across various

conflicting information as to what direction they need to be

pointing.

so what direction would, say the bottom side need be pointing

(corresponding to the pointy end in a female yantra)? and is there an

exception with the sri yantra as some believe?

thank you

Hi Kalidas,

triangle in center points downwards on both yantras. In Sri Yantra

the downward pointing triangles are Shakti, the upward: Shiva.

Interlocking, they form all of creation. Maybe you were thinking

about how people worship Sri Yantra? from the bindu outwards or from

the bhupura inwards?

I have seen Kali Yantra with the triangle pointing upwards but it

is not the usual way it is depicted...sometimes people paint it that

way to "tamp down" the fiercer aspects of Kali, as I have been told.
