Guest guest
One of the guys called up a program here on his computer. The program started to do an endless loop. A program loop... I wonder if this is the nature of karma... We hit the wrong buttons and it sent the whole program into an endless loop. Eric

I am not sure about Karma, but I know a computer loop, you can stop the whole program into an endless loop, and you can rectify the problem, then redo again. Can we do the same for Karma? Guest guest
Hello N - Probably I have too much time on my hands but it has been an interesting meditation. When a program is too corrupted or breaks down, you can find the task manager and shut it down or you can turn off the computer and reboot. Hopefully, one can try to figure out why it went into the loop mode anyway. Maybe life and death is a reboot. There is an American movie called GROUND HOG DAY that is about a character who relives the same day over and over again. In the mean time he becomes a very acomplished pianist, he saves people lives, make a great number of friends and wins over the love of his life. Also, he became more aware of others and go beyond is own selfishness. Perhaps in a very simple way this is the wheel of karma. Well, I'll continue to ponder on this and if anything comes of it, I'll share it. Eric , "N. Madasamy" <ashwini_puralasamy> wrote: > "One of the guys called up a program here on his computer. Guest guest
Good Morning Eric, Always nice to see you back in the group. "Probably I have too much time on my hands but it has been an interesting meditation. When a program is too corrupted or breaks down, you can find the task manager and shut it down or you can turn off the computer and reboot. Hopefully, one can try to figure out why it went into the loop mode anyway. Maybe life and death is a Reboot." A wise man told me once: you can never catch up with time. You have to make the time and time will be there for you. Perhaps that is what you have done. You have made the time to think about all these and willing to share it with us. Another wise man told me when he read my message "yes the loop program can be rectified, that's what we do with sadhana". Sadhana is the process whereby we fine tune ourselves. Another thing that is different between the Computer Programs and Karma is that we are the one who create the computer programs. So the problems arises from the programs depends on the programmer's him/herself. If the programmer is an expert, then there will be fewer problems or perhaps no problem at all. The reruns will be less or none. One runs and everything is okay. And as Prisni mention in her message "we choose our future bodies. We do it by our consciousness. When we reincarnate we get a body suitable for the consciousness we have, so by focusing our consciousness in a certain direction, we also choose our future body. This process is moderated by karma; reactions to previous actions". As for Karma [i hope this is not a stupid question] who "create" this karma? If Karma is like the computer program: who write these programs? Or Karma is the computer itself? I still remember the first time I became fascinated with the computers. While walking along the rows of shopping mall, I saw this computer display. It was displaying all the fantastic stuff. I thought: hey! Isn't that really good? So I decided to take up computer programming and learn all about computers. I learn to dismantle the computers and put them back again. Learn to write fantastic programs etc…. eventually I got bored, because I began to realize that the computer are not that "good" after all, because it still depends on human to create the programs and the computers only do what the humans want them to do. Then I'm being introduced with this Artificial Intelligence concepts comes in: what happen if the computers able to learn on his own just like us, human. "There is an American movie called GROUND HOG DAY that is about a character who relives the same day over and over again. Nice movie and it gives us something to think about did it. What happen if we can relives our lives over and over again the same day. In my opinion, his awareness came because he realizes the state he is in. The first time he was confuse then when he realizes the situation he is in and he tried to take advantage of that situation. He knows if He were to jump in front of the train, he will not get "killed" because he will still be awake the next time he opens his eyes and his is still back to the same situation. The main thing is that He is AWARE of his state, but does we all. I forgot about the ending, did he break the cycle? Did you see another movie [one of my favorite movie after star wars]: The Highlander: " The warrior, The lover, The wanderer, constantly facing other Immortals in combat to the death. The winner takes his enemy's head: and with it, his power etc…. I love the part when he took his sword up in the air and shout "There can be only one" and the powerful energy he absorbs. LOL. Doesn't it sound awesome! Anybody who is interested to read more about the Highlanders: [http://grove.ufl.edu/~aquarius/highlander.html] My question is: what happen if we all become an immortal. And that we will never die. Perhaps I find this highlander movie more appealing than the "GROUND HOG DAY" is that you don't go back to the same situation all the time; You see in Ground hog day, he wakes up at the same time all the time: 8 am. But in the highlander, he moves on. Every encounter is different from the other. Because that is how our live is all about. They are never the same. "Well, I'll continue to ponder on this and if anything comes of it, I'll share it. Thank you Eric. I really appreciate it. I am sure others too are keen to know learn more from your encounter. I forgot about the ending, did he break the cycle? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Via the chat lines: [Chat Friend] Yes I think he did when he got a perfect day. It is possible for all of us to be aware. Every night before you sleep just think of what you did [Nora]: Aware if what? [Chat Friend] The next day you will be more aware. Aware of the state we are in. We can only reach that if we stop believing what we WANT to believe and be brave enough to believe what is truth. [Nora] What is that we want to believe in? [Chat Friend] Then as we call our souls to account each night and every time we eventually reduce mistakes the only difference is we, unlike ground hog day have to face consequences. You have to be brave and sincere. Not what we want to believe in.rather what is the truth even if it goes against what we wished were true. We can eventually achieve his perfect day. [Nora] How can we do that? [Chat Friend] Of not hurting anybody or betraying ourselves if we try by doing what he did...thinking about how we treat people...regretting actions and seeking to improve them. When he was faced with the same situation he gave it a better but if we, like him, learn and sincerely try to give a better shot in terms of being sincere then we can have a perfect day like him! He wanted to believe he was good better than anyone else.... no need to accommodate anyone. Its dog eat dog world. He dared to realize this is not true. In Groundhog Day the director created an ideal situation where he has a second chance again and again. See reflection helps makes things better. [Nora] I am listening. Thank you for this. Can ask you're permission to use this for the group. [Chat Friend] Sure...I just relate movies to what I feel...no problems.
Guest guest
N - The dialogue below was really great. Thank you for including it. What I have become so very aware is how hard life is for EVERYONE and that we spend a great deal of time beating upon one another or upon ourselves for not succeeding the way we or the world thinks we ought. I am acutely aware of this in speech of others and in the inner thoughts of my mind how harsh things can be that I can only hope to treat others with kindness (as best as I can) because of this awareness. I fall short of the mark -- but each new day has new possibilities for kinder thoughts for others and for myself. The Ground Hog day started out as anything but perfect. However, as he went along, he started to change and see things differently. Now I can see that it was the perfect day. I'm going to think about how each that I wake up as a new day and try to see the choices and see truth. Eric , "N.
