Guest guest
Dear Alexandra: You have clarified for rudrajoe that you "did not ask from the standpoint of non-duality," so I will continue to answer with the caveat that my reply is strictly ontological and that, in the ultimate analysis, all of these goddess forms are merely aspects of the One DEVI. *** Okay, but when in Kali worship Matangi is an aspect of Kali, this doesn't mean that Matangi cannot be Kali's councelor. Is she? *** If you would like Her to fill that job description, then let it be so in your conceptualization. I will simply say that I know of no scriptural authority naming Matangi as counselor to Kali, only to Tripurasundari. In the Kali tradition, Matangi represents the outcaste, the impure, and the leftovers conceptualized as the holy form of DEVI. *** I am confused. Are Mantrini and Sangita-Yogini the same Devi, or are they two different Devis? *** Part of Matangi's essence is as the power by which primordial sound is made manifest, and as such She is said to reside on the tongue. Mantrini and Sangita-Yogini are one and the same as Matangi. Only Mantrini is sound made manifest as Mantra, and Sangita is sound made manifest as Song.
