Respected members,

Please allow me to ask a question that,s been on my mind lately. At this moment

Im in the process of tending my garden. I like to dedicate this garden to Devi,

in Her form of Durga.Could you please give me some information on:

1.In which direction I must seed the flowers dedicated to Durga Maa?

( east or west?) If it is permitted to have a small idol put in the garden as

well? and if so should the idol be in a small temple? or since it,s a garden

would a simple roof be suficient?

Sincerely Yours,

Maureen.

Shouldn't matter what techniques you use to care for your garden. Simple

devotion is enough. I remember feeling horribly afraid when tending my Tulsi

plants should I hurt them, but yet they all died. A few days ago I went outside

and guess what, they came back this year. Krishna Tulsi seem to do better where

I live.

As an interest please read this evocative article on shade tree therapy

Durga has an aspect called Shakambari, "She who is clad in vegetation."

So far as directions are concerned, I always perceive Durga as being in

the Center. Some Vedic astrologers see Durga as defending against the

negative influences of Rahu, the eclipse-maker, whose direction is the

South-west.

Interesting. I always thought that the earth itself is the Body of

DEVI. Don't we just let HER decide where she wants the plant to

face.

You put the seed, and do the necessary and let natures take its own

course. But maybe talking to the plants may be a good idea you know!

It is my believe that plant, flowers etc and all those in our garden,

can actually feel us. LOL. So if we enter the garden feeling blue or

moody, obviously the plant will react accordingly. You tend your

garden singing and talking to them as if they are listening to you,

they will do exactly that : they sing their own beautiful song back

to you.

I started with just a few Tulasi seeds, plant them in a little

corner, and now they grow in abundance. I told THEM, hey! You are

taking up the Roses space. Come on share with the roses, and you

know, that is what they did . They still grow but stay away from the

Roses. LOL.
