Above looks silly. Thank you for informing us. The following links contain a rebuttal to Paul Courtright's book on Ganesha in two parts. Paul Courtright's research looks both silly and perverted. Guest guest
It is exactly this that was coming to my mind when I noticed the frantic knowledge mining of Alexandra. This fellow Courtright or whatever must have travelled in india and must have talked to some people who without understanding the intent and purport of his questioning innocently answered his questions. That became "scholarly" research. If I were to just look at Pope John paul's pictres 9mind you pictures alone)(and with no knowledge of his diseases) and concluded that the bowed head of Pope is inconographically an indication of "flaccid whatever" in the christian population; how would the Catholic world react? These caucasians (not all I agree) pretend to be know alls. They can comment on anything, however foolish, the Universities accept their "Theses". Do you know that american universities had given up teaching of Afro-American and Jewish histories and religion to the respective groups? Its only in Hindu religion the over dependence on "Tourist researchers" and knowledge miers still continue? Its time Hindus started protesting and rebutting. Did anyone notice that Alexandra_108 hides behind an annonymous ID? That itself is an indication of bad intent. I am not being offensive but stating facts. Hindus have been hurt by Mayo's "Mother india" to this fellow's "Ganesha". We should not allow it and we are slowly reacting. We will succeed in exorcising such material from real scholorly works like that of Arthur Avelon.
