I don't think this response is directed against Mary Ann -- the member seems to have larger, more general axes to grind. The post spews anger and invective at large swaths of humanity and large social groups, and it required a lot of editing to make it acceptable for publication in this group. However, it does vividly -- if somewhat crudely -- reflect the very real beliefs and objections of many conservative Hindus. I would simply ask that this member, in the future, review our posting guidelines in the "Polls" section. I have neither the time nor the inclination to doctor posts in this way. - DB] THE POST: What i was talking about has been published in the newspapers. ["Westerners"] have not only distorted or degraced their own religion but also hinduism. Because hindus are the most tolerant races, but do they [Westerners] have the guts to do the same to Islam? No, they will be boobtisied [?] or their head will not be there. They seek Tantra and Osho because they talked about sex. They [Westerners] don't perceive religion without sex or sensual enjoyment. [Certain social groups within "The West"] take the excuse of religion to fulfill their dirty desires. They [Westerners] have written thousands of books on Tantra & have destroyed or misguided the world that they are the text on sex or kamasutra. They [Westerners] use [revered Hindu deity forms] to cover up or match their base actions with those of gods without understanding the meaning of [the deities' traditional symbolism]. They [certain Westerners] have even distorted the tantric text of ours [i.e., certain South Asian social groups] with their [Western] dirty impure minds. They [Westerners] have never been able to understand the reliigon. That is why god never gave any religion to them [i.e., "The West"], because they [Westerners] believe in the philosophy of enjoyment of life & just look at them, how they have degraded the humanity or human soul of what one cannot even imagine. [specific unusual sexual practices are graphically described and attributed to certain social groups in the West.] It's disgusting. That is why great civilization like Roman empire was destroyed - because they indulged in the sex & sensual enjoyment in the same way. They [Westerners] consider women as sex objects. I want to hear one example who have got darshan of any deity/devi by indulging in tantric sex or rubbish like this. One should remember that god doesn't have any sex neither the individual spirit.
