But Buddhist Tantra is in some ways very different than Hindu Tantra. I

went to a lecture by a Tibetan lama, who was asked about <panchamakara>,

and he said, "Buddhist Tantra is more mental. We don't mess around with

the same things Hindu Tantricists do."

Excuse me, but I am under the impression that Vaishnava tradition has

little or no Tantric influence. Even with Radha and Krishna (very erotic

Deities), their relationship is not portrayed as Tantric. One giveaway

is, Tantric deities are always at some point portrayed with the Third

Eye. No Third Eye ever appears on Krishna or Radha, and Vishnu and

Lakshmi are shown as masters of producing Maya/Illusion. Shiva and Kali

(with Third Eyes) can see beyond Maya. Are there Vaishnavas on this list

who can clear this up?

Or, on the other hand, you could argue that Tantra proposes that

EVERYTHING is sacred. Nothing can be set aside as profane.

-------The methods of tantra are for just this, to prove beyond

conceptualization that everything is divine. There is no other definition of

tantra than this. No other definition need be put forward.
