The "khadga" is not just a sword

Ive been thinking as why the use of "sword" to symbolise cutting of

ego or whatever.

 

I mean, people have been using the knife, the blade, the sword to cut

things. They are tools with sharp side. Old stone age people use the

same method to cut things. So its just logically the "sword" being

use. It also symbolises power, because if you look in the military,

only the officers carry sowrds. In the South East Asian tradition esp

amongst the Malays, the Kris - a shorter version of the sword,

symbolises power too, sovereignity and a mystical weapon.
