Guest guest
"There are several mantras we know...there is pancadashi the 15 letter mantra, shodashi the 28 letter mantra" This is an excerpt quoted from a talk on meditation by amritananda sarawati. Earlier I had known that panchadasi is 15 letter mantra and if we add a secret syllaby, only to be taken by practicing srividya upasakas becomes 16 letter shodasi mantra. shodashi--means sixteen-- one does not have no doubt about it. What is the real truth. JP

Okay let me give this a shot. >From what I know there are two forms of the Sodasi [ from kadimata tradition], namely "light" [ laghu ] version and the "great" [ Maha ] versions. The light version retains the literal sixteen syllable configuration while the The Maha sodashi has the 28 syllabus.
