Guest guest
Pranam. I had a dream today which is puzzling me. Perhaps, learned members could interpret it..... I am walking towards a river with my sister(I think), whom I am very close to. I know intuitively that the river is Ganga. Here is the strange bit. I feel very strongly that I am Ganga, not the Goddess but the river. I am going to the river in the spirit of an experiment( of what, I am not sure but it involves me dying). I am not afraid but slightly excited. You know, when you are going to commence on something that is still unknown but promises a spectacular breakthrough? That is how I feel. I descend into the river and the water is over my head. But, I do not want to die and this arouses a slight fear in me. My sis is on the shore but she is holding on to me. She pulls me back to the shore when the realisation hits me. I then notice a huge temple near the shore. My sis who was a background figure, now totally recedes. I walk into the temple and see the inner sanctum. There is a gigantic Shivalinga( in the South Indian style) grandly dressed. Next, I see Devi( also in South style) The priests are performing morning puja to the Deities. The dream continues but I cannot remember any more. Thank You With Love Shankaree Let my every word be a prayer to Thee, Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Thee, Every step I take a circumambulation of Thy image, Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Thee, Every time I lay down a prostration at Thy feet; Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do, Let it all be a form of worshiping Thee." >From Verse 27 of Shri Aadi Shankara's Saundaryalahari ALL-NEW Messenger - sooooo many all-new ways to express yourself
Guest guest
Namaste, A river is frequently a symbol of the unconcious or of unconcious desires to let go, to be swept away. It is like a dream world under the water, also it is a powerful force. The desire to descend into the river, being the river may be the desire to let go of the confusing structures of the intellectual world and allow the force of the unstructured wisdom of the self to take over. Since this threatens the very structured ego it is perceived by the ego as death. Frequently all figures in a dream are aspects of ourself. A sister is just another aspect of self, some part that recognizes when the experience is complete enough to pull us back out of it. Pulled from that experience of the unconcious, the first thing that you recognize is a temple. This may indicate that the point of the experience was to refresh your vision to look again at these structures with a new perspective, perhaps to see different things or have a different appreciation. I don't know if anything I have proposed here will ring true for you. If you are still wondering, try to remember not just the details, but the feelings, your relationship to the things around you. This generally gives good clues to the intrinsic meaning of the dream. Blessings, prainbow , shankaree ramatas <shankaree> wrote: > Pranam. I had a dream today which is puzzling me.
