Guest guest
What is conversion is really knowing, loving and serving the diety one adores. In case of Adwaita, diety could be replaced by Brahman or Self. All other kinds of trying to convert another that "my god" or "my way" is better so you better follow is because the person trying to convince another to convert is "unsure" of the path he or she is following and greater number somehow feels safe. If out of love one tries to talk about their path there is nothing wrong. Some genuinely believe that their path is the "only" way. This day and age with so much information out there no one should fall prey to another, unless one is underpriviledged. I have always felt that we all should help one another and if we do not learn how to share our wealth or knowledge with those who don't have then they will be subjected to "conversion" due to "need of the hour". Missionary work does go on in developing countries with mass poverty where the Govt. or the people could care less about the mass majority of poor people. How we can convert another ? Do we need to ? A simple smile or giving out food and shelter will be a start and after that things will all into place. Missionaries do just that and that's the reason why out of gratitude and necessity people convert.
