Guest guest
Is there a text dealing with the Kalachakra from a Hindu viewpoint? The Kalachakra originated in India, but seems to be more prominent in Tibetan Buddhism than in Hindu Tantra. Alexandra

Guest guest
There may not be a "Kalachakra" tradition in Hinduism but the descrption of kalachakra nad his consort visvamata and their essence mantra are very similar to what is found in many hindu tantras.Surprisingly, the same seed syllables are part of a mantra which is central to Srividya - the gurupaduka mantra!!! My obsession with Anandabhairava began when I read/heard that the central devatas of kaulas are Anandabhairava and Anandabhairavi in contrast to Kameshvara and Kameshvara of samayins, and i began to look for him everywhere. Anandabhairava is also the seer of the panchadashi mahavidya yet he is not mentioned in the kalpasutra.Yet his seed syllables are part of the all important gurupaduka mantra. Anandabhairava is worshipped in almost all the srividya tantras as part of the vishesharghya ritual. Sowbhagya ratnakara and Srividyarnava tantras mention six couple in the six chakras and mention their vidyas and meditiation on may coples at each level. Their colours (red black yellow etc) and their descriptions 10 to 100 arms 10 to 100 feet and the ayudhas or other things that they hold in their hands are very similar to kalachakra Shankaracharya speaking about the deities in muladhara (in his soundaryalahari(41)) says,...this world came to its father and mother in the deities Navatman and samaya. the seed syllables of Anandabhairava are navaatma and kalachakra is called possessed of ten powers...his mantra is om ah hum hoh hamkshahmalavaraya hum phat and his consort vishvamata's mantra... om phrem visvamata hum phat. Navatmaeshvara mantra is hasakshamalavarayum and his consort seed syllable( one ofthe main one) is phrem. When it come to hindu and buddhist tanta it is difficult to say who the pious plagiarist is - to use Sandersons term.
