Guest guest
The idea of "Apocalypse" or "end of the world" etc. etc. appears everywhere and seems more like a continual process, rather than a final end. I always liked the imagery and ideas associated with it, but don't see the finality. Looking at nature all I see are cycles and take such thoughts moreso as an internal process of death/rebirth within myself. a message dated 7/28/2004 10:30:31 PM Eastern Daylight Time, "N. Guest guest
I called the group stupid, and the idea of the End-Times also stupid, because --People all seek identity, identifying with the end of something is self defeating --Identifying with a fictitious virtual sangha of cyber wannabe prophets is only perpetuating a self masturbating group of nihilistic circlejerking doomsdayers. --Perpetuating the fraudulent, Christian promoted propaganda of an Armegeddon merely plays into the hands of the Christians who promulgated the notion of such and such a date and prophecy, and therefore it doesn't help to promote the other religions or ideals of mankind. --The notion of an endtime is merely a prop to help people get themselves together, such as in the case of a boy putting on his shoes to go to the movies. Saying, hey we're going to the movies later, means that he'll spend another unspecified time at the video games, but saying, hey, get you're butt in gear, we have to be at the movies in ten ninutes and have to rush, will get him putting his shoes on immediately, get it? Ie., it is in a religions best interest to promulgate an endtime notion so as to get the coffers full and to give the priests their temporal power. But in the case of the newly formed "League" who is profiting/propheting? --All endtime groups have to give a certain date or they must be proven wrong. When proven wrong they often take the end times amongst themselves such as Jim Jones. Why to such a group or notion. If suicide is your wish then seek real counseling, not a temporary clique of like minded support, who eventually will do themselves in. --etc... What is the value of The League of the Last Days? Who are your leaders? What are your prophecies? Who holds the coffer's keys? What is the value? ---- Original Message ----- swastik108 Friday, July 30, 2004 1:02 PM Re: Re: Fwd: just a little more love? fork in the trail ... Guest guest
Actually none of the consideration below really entered my mind when I first considered the last days idea. What really entered my mind initially was how everything is always changing. There is never an end, nor a beginning, or conversely, there are always ends and beginnings, constantly. This is Buddha's first of the four Noble Truths. Change is dukkha, so why focus on an imaginary big end time when end times are always everywhere around one. That was my first thought. But then I joined the group and talked a bit, and instead all I read was various people having various paranoid dreams about whatever the Homeland Security message of the day was, and then I knew. Shooting the gun of the mind in the dark will kill someone's dreams. - Detective_Mongo_Phd Friday, July 30, 2004 2:06 PM Re: Re: Fwd: just a little more love? fork in the trail ...
