Question: what exactly is the definition of Stotram? also, I am familiar with the Khadga as the sword of kali. How does the stotram pertain to this???? It's one of my most inspiring spiritual symbols. I actually have an iron Khaga decorating the Kali altar in my house. It was forged at shop in Calcutta and used during Kali Puja. Guest guest
Namaste Murali, A very good introduction to the KS can be found on our Shakti Sadhana home page here : http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Photo% 20Gallery/khadgamala/sridevikhadgamala.html Complete with a nice introduction and many helpful footnotes if you are unfamiliar with this particular Stotram. Guest guest
Namaste Swastika, You wrote: what exactly is the definition of Stotram? >>Stotram = Hymn >>As fas as I know Khadga=sword in general, Not just the Sword of Kali. There is also a Kali Khadgamala Stotram. As far as how this pertains to this particular Hymn. I think Amritananda Natha says it best in the quote below (in reference to the KS) "Khadga means a sword and mala means a garland. Sword cuts the head, separating body from mind. It can be interpreted also as wisdom, which separates, categorizes, and classifies. So it is a symbol of knowledge. Khadgamala is about imagining a garland of ideas, nourishing and protecting them and putting life into them." ~SE101 , swastik108@a... wrote: > In a message dated 8/9/2004 8:38:09 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > ouranian@l... writes: > A very good introduction to the KS can be found on our Shakti Sadhana > home page here : http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Photo% > 20Gallery/khadgamala/sridevikhadgamala.html > Is the full text also available????? > > Question: what exactly is the definition of Stotram? > > also, I am familiar with the Khadga as the sword of kali. Guest guest
One thing I have to say; teh Kali Khadgamala recital referred to in the link, when listened to in a relaxed mood, preferably in dim candle light will give the listener an unforgettable experience.
