Will consuming poison and imagining it is purified into nectar, save one from death? Same applies to tamasic and sattvic food and the distinction needs to be maintained. Len: Shaktas are in no way exempt from smriti rules. Exception is when they are perfoming rituals involving vamachara and if there is a particular rule(like some) asking them them to refrain from following a certain smriti rule.
