Guest guest
In the srividya puja (or any vamachara puja)how many times did/does the practitioner/tantrika have sex? let me explain; Since sexual fluids are part of the five "ma" karas, and since the five form part of the vishesharghya, does one have sex for the fifth ingredient? Did/does one have sex as part of suvasini puja again? Well, im curious.
Guest guest
I think this over emphasis on sex in SV is uncalled for and counter productive. IFat all that is necessary, the Guru will enlighten the deciple. whats happening is this over-emphasis plays into the hands of charlatans who speak tirelessly of Samayachara without understanding what samaya, kaula and vama is. I have come accross people who are booklearned - very brilliantly so - denigrating anything other than samaya at the same time practicing what is called 32/37 which is still rather not spoken of. I have also heard fantastic claims of reciting 10,000 or more of various mantras in one night!! Anyone with common sense knows the day is but with 24 hours and the time required to recite once is fixed. I just do not understand the fools who swallow these lies without thinking. I have also come accross people, without mahapaduka, acting as Gurus. Basing SOLELY on book knowledge. I have also come accross people who practice Vama/Kaula to get siddhis then denigrating it. Someone did ask me what happens to the naieve deciples who take mantra from such people. The answer is simple. If the Shishya is sincere he/she would be protected by Devi. The so called "Guru" gets burnt out. These people (mostly Indian; unfortunatly) are as much a bane to sadhana as the western "Schowlers". We can discuss the sexual aspects after advancing on the "entry level" techniques. Discussing sex in Tantra is like putting a kintergarten child in Post Graduate research seminars. It is also said curiosity killed the cat *smile* jaimaa1008 <jaimaa1008 wrote: In the srividya puja (or any vamachara puja)how many times did/does the practitioner/tantrika have sex? let me explain; Since sexual fluids are part of the five "ma" karas, and since the five form part of the vishesharghya, does one have sex for the fifth ingredient? Guest guest
Dear Jaimaa1008: Thanks for your message to Kochu. Please do not feel we are criticizing because you raised this topic. In fact, it is nice to see the dialogue picking up again as we emerge from the late summer doldrums and head into the holiday season. (Navratri begins in just a month from today, on the night of October 13, and continues through October 22, 2004.) The question is legitimate, I agree ... though more of academic than practical interest (the historical dimensions, etc, I mean). It's just that past experience sugggests that not all who jump into such threads enter with your subtlety of understanding and interpretation. But whatever, y'know? Please do continue posting and thank you for your interest and involvement. ;-) DB , "jaimaa1008" <jaimaa1008> wrote: > > > Thanks Kochu, the "touchy" was not meant for you.Its just that that > the normal feeling of most people when faced with this question. And > thanks for the nityotsava lead, believe it or not I read that after > your last post. > Thanks again.
