Guest guest
Greetings all, I am not good with introductions, so hopefully I wont falter here... My most used online sobriquets is Anya. I am 18 and a full-time college student, working on the general courses to hopefully major in Clinical Psychology. I live in Salina, Kansas. Apart from my fascination with the Eastern faiths, mainly the Hindu religions, my other hobbies include a bit of Art, Reading and Writing, Psychology, Witchcraft and Paganism, Philosophy, Martial Arts, and Bellydancing. I guess I should give a bit of history concerning my spiritual path. My family is Roman Catholic, so I naturally grew up with Catholic beliefs. As I hit my teens, I grew dislusioned (spelling?) with religion and became an atheist for a while. Then I began to question myself and the possibilities of a Supreme Being, then started to search for Truth (for lack of better words). For a year, I considered myself a "closet Pagan" with Christian morals (the golden rule and love God, mainly). My family has known about my eclectic Pagan beliefs for over a year and a half now, thankfully very accepting of my choice in spirituality. However, my search did not end there. Ever since I been a loosely practicing Pagan, relying on research and books to teach me and my intuition to follow what speaks to me, I have been drawn to Hinduism -- mainly the Great Goddess. It is only recent that I found time to do some research. I cannot really describe why 'she' speaks to me, the "pull" is too esoteric. I will always be eclectic in nature, but I suppose this might be a call for me to pick a specificpath. So, here I am now, focusing my Hindu research on Shaktism and seeing how I can incorporate its principles in my life. I hope to learn from you all. I am new to the Hindu religions, so if I seem to be a bit ignorant, please bare with me. Blessings, _______________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Gardnerian Wiccans practice "digambara," which is Sanskrit for "skyclad." The Hindus here will no doubt BEAR with you, too! (I'm a Westerner, trained in both Wicca and in Shakta Hinduism, but many on this List are Hindus from India... or Singapore -- Hi, Nora!). Guest guest
Actually, I do not consider myself Wiccan at all, nor am I part of a coven. I am a solitary practitioner, and due to the lack of mentor and my eclectic tendencies, I have to rely on research and books (as well as advice from other Pagans) for practice. Either way, I will always be a student in my eyes, for there is so much out there. Thanks for asking. I also thank you for the welcome. Blessings, >kalipadma > > >Re: New member.
