Guest guest
sri Bhaskararaya Makhin of Bhasuranandanatha (one of our members is lucky to have the same diksha name *smile*)is probably the greatest of srividya upaskas and he wrote more than forty works covering numerous subjects, he was also the greatest authority on mantrasastra. Saubhagyabhaskara is his commentary on the Lalita Sahasranama. He explains eac name with such wonderful insight and scholarship that just reading it becomes a beautiful meditation. Shakti sadhana group has given us so much...and here I am, up in the middle of the night(2.50 AM.); and i was kind of inspired to do my two bit. I thought why not post a bit of this wonderful commentary when ever possible. I am doing it to give something to the group from which i have "taken" so much, and I a also doing it a as form of sadhana. I dont know what really prompte me but i hope i can follow through... This is translation by R.Ananthakrishna Sastry, published by Addyar Libray. I have not included the diacritical marks (to make typing easier) and i am starting from the names perse and not the introduction etc. But I will include these opening lines: I bow down to Lalita, the supporter of the universe, the ruler of creation, preservation, and destruction, the srividya, the eternal, the great Tripurasundari.....
