Guest guest
Hello all, I was curious on how all of you approached prayers, rituals, chants, and mantras. I know that for myself, I make my own since I am a solitary practitioner of my path. However, I am aware that there are traditional prayers, rituals, chants, and mantras out there for most, if not all faiths. My questions to everyone here: -Do you make your own prayers, rituals, chants, and mantras? How do you feel about this? -How do you feel about the traditional prayers, rituals, chants, and mantras? Are they a necessity, even if just to keep some of the older ways alive? Which ones do you concentrate on the most? I know that one should only do as much as they can handle at the time, but I was wondering about how you guys approached this topic. Guest guest
Hiya, I sometimes use chants/rituals that someone else has written, sometimes I modify them to suit my needs and/or my thinking. However I prefer to make up my own because only I know what I really need and what helps me to connect. Regarding your question on traditional prayers/chants/rituals etc, I think some are very beautiful and make a wonderful addition to my path. Of course this is just my opinion, I would be curious to see what other members of this list have to say. Have the best day ever. Guest guest
>From a hindu perspective, mantras prayers etc are associated with dieties. Each family of dieties would have its own characteristics. For eg If you are in the path of learning, whether its music, or texts, saraswati is worshipped. The bija mantras dhyana etc would create a resonance which would help you accelerate this endeavour. If you want material prosperity, laskhmi is worshipped. It would bring the associated qualities for being materially prosperous, like good efficient habits etc etc. , "Anya Mortiis" <angelusmortiis@h...> wrote: > Hello all, > > I was curious on how all of you approached prayers, rituals, chants, and > mantras.
