Guest guest
that you quoted (below) is truly inspired. Looking through some writings of sages I had copied out last year, I found something reminiscent of it, though not so beautifully said and lacking the bhakti. It is from the pagan philosopher Porphyry, most of whose writings were destroyed when the Roman empire outlawed all other religions than Christianity: "Every ritual action done on this physical level, every form created, every word spoken or written, acted as the magnet to which its spiritual counterpart was irresistably pulled." >Let my every word be a prayer to Thee, >Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Thee, >Every step I take a circumambulation of Thy image, >Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Thee, >Every time I lay down a prostration at Thy feet; >Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do, >Let it all be a form of worshiping Thee." > >From Verse 27 of Shri Aadi Shankara's Saundaryalahari -- Max Dashu Suppressed Histories Archives Global Women's Studies http://www.suppressedhistories.net
