Guest guest
My apologies for any difficulties you have had with members of my Wiccan tradition. Some Gardnerians are awfully judgemental. If you'd like to see what ny own training was like, read the book "Wicca Covens" by my teacher, Judy Harrow. I'm surprized that most of the Wiccans out West are Gardnerians. I thought that there were more of Starhawk's tradition, or NROOGD, or Pete Pathfinder's kind -- all of which are quite different from Gardnerian. As to the accusation that Dianics have "no real history" -- are those Gardnerians claiming to date back to the "Burning Times," or to Atlantis? Very silly. Gerald Gardner cobbled his Wicca together from various sources (including Aleister Crowley, the Catholic Church, and Malay Shamanism). I am unconvinced that even "family traditions" can be accurately traced back unbroken before the 19th century. And the Dianics have reconstructed their traditions from many of the same sources. There's nothing wrong with reclaiming from old writings, or with modern inspiration. What's important is whether it works! But I didn't join Shakti Sadhana to argue about Western mystical traditions. I joined to discuss the longstanding, HISTORICAL, Goddess-worshipping traditions of India, which has always been accessible to both men and women.
