If something is created out of thin air, as a kind of parody, that's one thing. If it morphs/evolves from things that have gone before, that's another thing entirely. Nobody takes a parody religion seriously -- and it is not meant to be taken seriously. Different points of view on theologies account for evolution/'change/morphing of religions -- different interpretations. It's how there get to be so many "sects" of a single religion. Religions have to be flexible to be accomidate many different experiences of reality, but there are always common threads that run through, and themes that play over and over again in different guises. Some call it Chi, others call it life force. Since modern times we have the dictionary, and delude ourselves into the illusion that it is possible for us to nail reality down by putting defitions in dictionaries, but even words have many shades of meaning, and many uses, and a single word is much less complex than a religion. Guest guest
True. But I think it's a question of the seeker's temperament. Are you looking for a thought system that reflects your own? A "lifestyle" choice? Or are you looking for a practical, proven, time-tested system? Neither choice is wrong. Some people line up to try experimental drugs, willing to be guinea pigs for any unknown side effects. Some people prefer aspirin. Take two, and it'll always do the trick. The world needs all kinds. , King Solomon <kingsolnew> wrote: > Cannot cast aspersions on a religion because it is new. All religions once had a beginning. Guest guest
I've created my own religion - the Religion of Bhagalamukhi. I realized that I had all the materials I would ever need as well as the real techniques and Bam, a new religion. If anyone hasn't seen it then it's at my website under the meditation tabs. http://members.cox.net/l-v-x/ - Devi Bhakta Friday, October 01, 2004 7:19 PM Re: new religions True.
