Guest guest
I read some of the poetry on the group files and it is lovely. I'm a poet and somebody said something about silence recently in a message to the group, and it touched me to a poetic reveri, as the subject is dear to me. So, here I am home alone. All day long I enjoy the silence. As soon as everyone is out the door I silence the television set. ( It used to drive me crazy to wake up and have the tv turned on,until i started to escape for morning meditations down by the ocotillo cactus bush for sungazing ( the ocotillo cactus bush is a little bit taller than me, about two people deep, and 7 people wide, so it feels like a nice camoflage, but in fact, the people in the houses on the other side can see me i suppose, but for maybe i manage to blend into the sceneri a little bit better standing next to the cactus ( those have slender arms and top out in pretty dark violet blossoms during their blossom season in the spriing and summer ). All summer long I leave my back patio glass ( door ) open. I can't be cut off from the breeze. Windows open. My house is full of dust my house is too dusty, but. Here I am home alone with the old carpets and the patio, I had to close it almost all the way but for just enough to let the dogs go out it's chilly and i turned the heat on low. I like to be in silence. To me, any kind of structure or "discipline" feels like an intrusion. To me, the structure and the discipline has been about being in silence. Plain and simple. Nothing more. I can't sit in the so-called "proper" midetation postures for very long it's bad for circulation in the legs. I seem to do just fine, standing down by the ocotillo cactus bush. i feel the sun talking to me. I feel visions comes to me through the sun. I find, more and more, I sink so deep into silence. And Silence, if your ears and heart are open and alert, you really can hear a lot that way. Don't you think? I like to be around common folk. I know we in America here have what I call the "Better Homes and Garden's Ladies" and to be sure, these ladies know their stuff and i am no better homes and gardens lady, but i'm a good cook -- ( my old world german grandmother ( from the country ) taught me NOT to follow the recipe ( you don't Follow the recipe she said. she didnt' believe in it ;-) "one time it will come out a little bit this way; one time it will come out a little bit that way; each time it is a little different. THAT is the TRUE Baklava," Grandma once said to me. Baklava is a serbian and mediterranean ground nut filo dought honey syrup covered desert. Sometimes life's like that, don't you think? One can't always go by the recipe. And there are so many recipes nowadays, sometimes I like to gather several for the same thing, and each will be unique in it's own way, but still somehow, it all comes out to be syrupy nut filled, pastry. So, I have friends who are men and I Love them but I don't make love to them cuz I'm married. But I Feel them sometimes -- their essense sometimes it feels very erotic to me -- . but I guess in our spirits it is their Essense we Crave. Sometimes the essence is revealed through sex, and sometimes not, wouldn't you agree? Or is the essence always revealed, but sometimes we don't notice it? But why do people notice and FEEL the essense so during sex? Because the senses are all open? But what is it about love, that opens up all the senses? What is it, Love? Guest guest
Talking abt silence, in my meditation on shree, some interesting questions came up, which i want to ask the group. Given absolute power and control over your universe, what would you do. - Would you lead a simple life?. - Would you go around killing people/ideas you dont like and nurturing people/ideas you like? -Would you spread knowledge, be a parton of fine arts? the list could go on... In your meditation, get into this space(It may take a while), and please share your thoughts. However gross and terrible or subtle and fine it may look to others. I am entering an internet silence for some time, just like Nora, but i would still be reading. Those of you who enjoyed my writings, thanks for the readership. Blessings!.
