Brahmamahurta time

It is not determined by clock time. Because clocks are not always

in tune with natural law - sometimes they are on standard time,

sometimes on daylight saving time, and they are averaged all across

an entire 700-mile-wide time zone which also puts them more or less

off from true natural sun time.

 

Abut it is very simple to determine this special time of the morning:

Go stand outside in the silence and dark (pick a place that is fair-

ly quiet, away from busy streets, traffic, etc., where it gets really

settled at night). (1) When the animals wake up (birds start chirping,

etc.) that is the time. (2) When you feel a wave of freshness (prana)

sweep across the land, that is the time. (That wave ceaselessly circles

the globe like a tide of sattva and life, announcing the coming of the

sun, which is always rising somewhere.) Depending on the season (the

angle of the sun in the sky and the length of day) this time will vary

somewhat - being earlier in the summer and later in the winter. But

using those two criteria above it is quite clear to most any sensitive

person - most anyone can hear it and feel it.

 

They say that is the freshest, most settled yet awake, most creative

time of the whole day - very beautiful for deep meditation, very lively

with the qualities of transcendental consciousness. Once the world of

human civilization starts waking up, that settled energy is disturbed and

the more outward, dynamic quality begins to take over. Thus, that spe-

cial period can often last a couple of hours before it's fully faded.
