Guest guest
Namaste, I've been working my butt off and now looking again for work as my contract ended. Trying to re-establish online access at home. Please forgive my being out of touch on this group <bows> If there was any kind of "vote" that I missed...I vote that this group is wonderful and long may it continue. Did I miss the Navaratri? Blessings, prainbow

According to this calendar, Navaratri starts this Thursday, with the new moon: http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/extra/bl-alm.htm another calendar, in the "links" section of , lists the same dates (as I recall.) Best wishes on your search for employment.
Guest guest
And here I am, following up to my own message. Bad form. :-) My wall calendar appears to be a little incorrect with regards to moon phases, at least for my location. The full moon is on Oct. 13th (for me) and Oct. 14th is the first day of Navaratri (this year.) For moon phases: U.S. Naval Observatory Moon phases, moonrise, moonset, eclipes, equinoxes, etc. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/ Time zone conversions For use with astronomical tables http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc 02:48:00 Thu Oct 14 2004 in GMT (new moon time) converts to 19:48:00 Wed Oct 13 2004 in America/Los_Angeles , "msbauju" <msbauju> wrote: > , "prainbow61" <paulie- > rainbow@u...> wrote: > > [....] > > Did I miss the Navaratri? > > Datewise, I don't think so. > According to this calendar, Navaratri starts > this Thursday, with the new moon: > http://hinduism.about.com/library/weekly/extra/bl-alm.htm > [....]
Guest guest
Namaste, thank you so much for this. I'll have to stop off at my fav Indian grocery and see when the local community is celebrating here. It is my favorite holiday on the Hindu calendar, probably because it's so joyous, but mostly because it's really the only one I have found celebrated here and open to someone like me.
