I too forgot about this very important point. That also brings up the idea of organically grown produce instead of those factory farmed, genetically altered 'foods' that are on the shelves of our supermarkets. From the point of health it is indeed good not to eat meat. The point i raised was different. Firstly, meat is used in RITUAL context of Tantra and hinduism. Secondly, keeping meat away DOESN`T by itself make u spiritual, as well as eating it. A.

I don't see medical science as an entirely objective thing, nor science ingeneral. Yes there are objective elements to it. But look at any scientific study and there are always "statistics" -- and what do the statistics say? If you have a mental illness, take this drug because it will help you, which is objective and not always true Only 50% are helped. If 50% are helped according to the study, they make a blanket statement you MUST take the drug or youwill not get better. In fact, even genetics is not clear cut. for instance, there are genes that predispose a person for a certain condition. A gene has been identified as being linked and causative, for instance, of schizophrenia. However, only 50% of the people with that gene ever develop symptoms of the disease. so, to me, science and so called "objective" facts are only 50% of the equation. that leaves a pretty big 50% of other factors remaining. Is the other 50% spiritual? To be sure it is as least a part -- a very important part, imho.
