Guest guest
I'm back from the North. Spent Friday through Monday in Ashokan, New York (a small town not far from Woodstock), where there was a Neo-Pagan gathering. Some fond memories: Sitting in the dining hall with Satish, a grad student originally from Bombay, who was amused that he had lost interest in his family's Hindu traditions while I had taken such things up. Teaching a class about Navaratri to six or seven curious Neo-Pagans, and teaching them Durga bhajans. Being interrogated by 4-year old Xena (who was examining my table of incenses and small statues for sale): "Are really the Boss over all this stuff?" Stories from Vic, a woman who loves seals, and how she buried a mutilated seal on a beach in Maine (apparently there are dealers in seal organs for medicinal purposes). My teacher Judy telling about attending the Parliament of World Religions in Barcelona, Spain. more later... -- len/ kalipadma ______________ Speed up your surfing with Juno SpeedBand.
