Guest guest
Interesting subject, and maybe Lars can give me another book review: Layayoga: The Definitive Guide to the Chakras and Kundalini, by Shyam Sundar Godwami. First of all, I was reading this book last night and just from reading the book, my solar plexus chakra started to tingle with the most happy vibration, very strong, and I felt overcome with the feeling of "to giggle" and I really am please with the amount of information in this book: Here is what it says on the back of the book: "Tantra -- a spiritual tradition centered on the use of teh body to find enlightenment -- has become extremely popular in the West, but at the heart of Tantra is the little-known practice of Layayoga. Layayoga focuses on the Tantric process of transforming the ordinary human body into a divine body in which every cell is awakened with consciousness." and "In Layayoga the adept learns not only to raise kundalini power from the base of the spine up through each chakra to the crown of the head, but also to then sillfully guide this power back to its home at the base of the spine." To me, this is the completion. I admit it. I am a westerner, and I have this thing in me that not only the spirit is to be transformed, but the body as well. For instance, when Jesus was crucified, died, and buried, he resurrected wtih a REAL BODY which was transformed into a Divine Body, so I really believe this, and no amount of anybody disagreeing on any line of reasoning is going to change how I feel about this. The body is not bad, and only to be transcended. Sure we must learn to raise our consciousness and become Conscious in our bodies, so that we are not Ruled by crude matter. Rather, we are called to enlighten not only our minds, but our bodies as well. The point of God/dess putting people on earth as spirits in bodies, was NOT so we could learn to dispise the body as a form of punishement and exile from spirit and Sattva, but so that we could learn how to live as spiritually enlightened beings IN our bodies, and thus Spiritualize Matter. When we see that matter and teh body are only something to be transcended, they become like the used wrapper we throw away and we lose a regard for the sacredness of Mother Earth and our own Bodies. Our jobs as spirits inhabiting bodies is to fulfill the scripture that our bodies are a Temple to the Divine. Ok, Ok, so EVENTUALLY we transcend also the body and the need to bring Light Into Physical matter, thus spiritualizing matter. Everyone ascends. One way or another we all ascend. The body doesn't need to be the enemy in this process. My two cents, Peace, CAthie
