Guest guest
Namaste, First of all, thank you all so much for such a wonderful, insightful and informative group. I have been following the messages for a while and find you all very inspirational and helpful. The Goddess attracts me, its like a power that I cannot describe. If one would ask, 'why do you worship the Goddess?' i'd not really be able to answer - it just seems like it is Her magnificent will... For roughly one year I have been chanting the mantra "Om aim hrim klim chaamundaayai viche namah" mentally while walking/travelling/sitting anywhere...and at home while sitting in a half-lotus posture using a rudraksha mala. For the past two months I have noticed that the spot between my eyebrows has grown very sensitive...and over the recent Nav Ratri period when i recited the mantra 108 times every night it felt like that spot was throbbing. My eyes would involuntarily tighten till i felt such pressure on the middle of my forehead that it borderd sometimes on 'painful.' Lately, if i even close my eyes and focus for a few seconds, it happens, even without repeating a mantra mentally. Do you think that I'm making errors in my japa? Or could it be entirely unrelated to japa? Or is it somethingelse? I would appreciate suggestions and comments about your own experiences during japa. Again, thank you all so much! Blessed be! Guest guest
Sounds like you have activated your Third Eye for sure..hard to say if this is good or bad with so little to go on! I hope you have a good strong Goddess image in your mind! I would back off just a bit on the mantra, if I were you, I doubt you have done any homa ritual, which is necessary with mantra. You may want to read "Kundalini" by Roibert Svoboda, to get at least some idea of what is going on with you. I would direct prayers at the Goddess for further guidance and pray that She smooths the path for you. if you have a good rapport with her, She will keep you safe. Guest guest
93 Greetings, Chris. It is not possible for to say anything exactly not seeing U. Would be better if U can contact some authentic guru concerning this. I cannot say i`m sure as Lili is regarding "third eye" for several reasons. Besides all, i know one case that happened once to my friend. He was following vaishnavism and did much practice of kriya-yoga (without guru, just took excersises from some indian book). Once he concentrated strongly on his "third eye" and after that he got painful sensation. It didn`t go and in a small time it was found out there is some kind of inflammation; he had go to hospital to be treated. So these kind of sypmtoms are not necessarily showing siddhi . But i don`t say that Ur case is this - i simply say it MAY BE. Lastly, i wonder why U use "namaH" at the ending of Ur vidya? If it is Ur own invention, i suggest to leave it and use proper mantra - ending with "vichche" only. Concerning what Lili told, yes - pray to Devi to guide U and help U. That`s essential above all sadhanas. I've also read explanations that the initial "Om" is unnecessary. Just chant: Aim Hrim Klim Cha-mun-da-ye Vich-che Nine syllables. But Shree Maa of Napa California's Devi mandir has recorded a tape chanting the mantra that I've fixated on. -- Len/ Kalipadma > Concerning what Lili told, yes - pray to Devi to guide U and help U. > > That`s essential above all sadhanas. > > > > ______________ Speed up your surfing with Juno SpeedBand. Guest guest
Thank you all so much for your kind feedback! I want to begin propitiating the five elements with their respective bija mantras - lam, yam, ram, vam, ham - its just a desire that i have had for a long time. So i figured, that beginning on the day after diviali i could worship the earth with "Om lam om" for thirty days and then progress to next element till all five are completed. Is this a good idea? The thing is, I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago. There I recieve Guru Diksha; but the role of the Guru there is not a familial and personal as i have found it to be in Tantra - it is somewhat depressing. Is it a good idea to seek the Devi's guidance for a tantric/more guiding Guru before seeking any other Sadhanas or is it fine just having a guru? Please forgive my ignorance. Blessed be! Guest guest
You could combine repeating the Bija mantras with pranayama. Specifically, learn how to do alternate nostril breathing with retention. Then, while focusing on the appropriate chakra, inhale through the left nostril and silently repeat its Bija mantra 4 times, hold the breath and silently repeat the same Bija mantra 16 times and on the exhale through the right nostril repeat the same Bija mantra 8 times. Reverse the sequence and repeat the Bija mantra 4 times while inhaling through the right nostril and so on. Repeat the entire cycle several times. using the same Bija mantra. You can start with the Muladhara chakra and its Bija, Lam. You can use bandhas if you like. At the same time or at another time perform the same procedure but use a different Bija mantra for a different chakra. You could also perfom samanu to cleanse the nadis. 1.Focus on the anahata chakra, repeat the Bija 'Yam' and start the inhale, retain, exhale process on the LEFT nostril. 2.Next, focus on the Manipura chakra, repeat its Bija 'Ram' and start the inhale, retain, exhale process with the RIGHT nostril. 3. Concentrate on the tip of the nose and repeat the Bija 'Tam'. Start the inhale, retain, exhale process with the LEFT nostril. 4. On the exhale shift the concentration to the Muladhara chakra and and repeat its Bija "Lam". This is one complete round of samanu.
