Guest guest
hi cathie - that is quite a poem. you share the same name as a friend of mine who writes poetry and i asked if she was the one that wrote it. she said she wishes she could... but that godess with the owl, i have seen depictions of her in greek mythology but who is she and what is her name? i like the juxaposition of the tree image and the owl, one of life and the other death - the cycle that sometimes we see without hate or love, acceptance or resistance but awe. lovely! can i post it in the west virginia writers news group? are you publishing? where can i read more. sincerely, eric , SophiasRealm@a... wrote: > But I like a certain amount of Confusion She > said > by Me (Cathie Frank, One Yogi of Poetry, Me ;-) > > > i. > Consider for instance such moments as when > music stops time falls like arms all around you words > punctuate e motive springs beyond word > conscious wells off eternal tip of tongue, > pigment of imagination, again, a morning like no other > rolls casually ,causally over mountain again > dog bark in distance from south and then > one more west ,relatively speaking > again, this moment of something attainable > to count for love of ways to timbre wolf thine aye(s) > into the deep recreating river of mind > fill the air like clouds of birdsong confuse > the senses like slight wind rustled leaves random > finger flutter over flute across some distant > mountain still ancient drastic angular > brown in bed of flat white cloud in > dropped back sea of deep blue sky un yielding > the past. Guest guest
Hello Eric, Sure, you may post my poem I guess, just so long as you say I wrote it ;-) One summer I submitted some poems to journals and got some published in some nice mags, such as yefief and some respected journal out of University of Davis -- about half a dozen published in magazines. Had a publisher (Tabula Rasa Press) who was going to publish my first book of poems free of charge to me, but he had a heart attack and was set back too much to take on a book of poetry since as you know poetry is a tax write off only for publishers and they don't make any money publishing it but just do it out of loyalty to the arts. Regarding the Owl, she was sitting outside my office window. We live in the desert highlands of new mexico ( not arid desert like further west out past arizona). She really was sitting there in the tree. And the window was shut, and her head turned a full 180 and looked right into my eyes. Which let me know how good her hearing is, cuz when I saw her, i had been coming into the room to get something, and saw her out the window, and I was being quiet and the floor is carpeted and i had no shoes on, so just goes to show how good her hearing is! Yes. She is a Goddes alright. I'm not sure what her name is. I've heard that Lilith is symbolized by a snake and an owl. So there's one reference, but that I saw no snake...
