Meaning:

The Benevolent, the One Who wears cangu and kuzai (to

ears) - worship His foot lotus with folded hands and

become His ones, oh the serving ones !

On hearing about the worst distress inflicted

by the henchpersons of the lord of death, my heart is

burning like cut with thousand saws.

 

Notes:

1. nAyanAr cautions those who have no time to think of

God. There are fierce descriptions of the hells in the

purANas. It is not a doom for not worshipping God, but

the karma one accumulates lets the law take its own

course of action and the cycle continues endlessly,

until one decides to hold on to the Stationed Foot of

God to come out of the wheel.
