Guest guest
A parody of the kaulas rom Rajashekara's Karpura Manjari: (Translated by Konow and Lanman). I dont know mantra from tantra, Nor meditation or anything about a teacher's grace. Instead, I drink cheap booze and enjoy some woman. But I sure am going on to liberation, since I got the Kula path. What's more, I took some horny slut and consecrated her my "holy wife." Sucking up booze and wolfing down red meat, My "holy alms" are whatever I like to eat, My bed is but a piece of human skin. Say, who wouldn't declare this Kaula Religion Just about the most fun you can have?
Guest guest
93 Yeah, funny LOL. As Scripture says, "vAme rAmA ramaNakushalA dakShiNe pAnapAtram" )). In fact the path to God through enjoyment is above other paths, `coz it is sahaja-marga. "bhogo yogAyate sAkShAt...", as it is stated in Kularnava-tantra. "There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt". Guest guest
-The path to God through enjoyment or licence is but the lazy, undisciplined person's path to God. It takes the long way around so it is not above all others. With this path the aspirant has to exhaust all of his/her desires and get rid of his/her rigid tendency to focus on external devices to achieve happiness. But these people finally come to realize, after tens of thousands of lifetimes , that enjoyment and happiness does not come from the outside but from turning away from the outside and focusing within. Some people learn more quickly than others. These people are slow to learn. But it doesn't matter, we all eventually learn that craving, self-love and attachment brings only suffering whereas detachment, egolessness, and focus on Brahman brings supreme peace. Guest guest
But is the Path of a Kaula really like the characature outlined in the Email that started this thread? I think there is a difference between enjoyment and indulgence/license. All enjoyments are not alike. I am a Kaula and I can say that I do not enjoy getting falling down drunk (in the name of God/dess or otherwise). I'm not kicking up my heels every night in wild orgies. Nor do I have any desire to have a different sexual partner everyday of the week. I do enjoy reading in the Sun, drinking tea, spending time at the Ocean, travel and cooking for friends and family. These things are my bhukti and I hardly think any of them are paving a road to Hell. Nor will they in and of themselves lead to nor divert from Liberation. There have always been useless wastrels doing as they please in the name of religion or any other convenient label. I don't think this constitutes an accurate definition of the Kaula Path. ~se101 , "omprem" <omprem> wrote: > > -The path to God through enjoyment or licence is but the lazy, > undisciplined person's path to God. Guest guest
Anyone who thinks free drinking and sex is tantra oes not know what it is. It IS NOT tantra. No one who is into real Tantra ever gets really drunk - even if he has bottles and bottles. And sex as envsaged in normal human content is NOT there in Tantra. My two cents sunelectric101 <ouranian wrote: But is the Path of a Kaula really like the characature outlined in the Email that started this thread? Guest guest
The fact is, those who are using the path properly will find their desire for any kind of debauchery or licence DECREASING, as one is finally "getting past" the need for such things. The "craving" is finally being satisfied! Having sex over and over again indicates the sex is NOT satisfying anything, else the desire for it would not keep returning so quickly! One proper maithuna should satisfy one so thoroughly that desire does not arise again for THREE MONTHS! I found when my practices were at their height, I had no real desire for sex at all..the Divine Union was so "satisfying" that mere mundane sex would have been a comedown by comparison! Even today, if I did not now have a partner, I likely would not bother with physical sexual activity at all. We are conditioned to crave it by the media in our sex-obsessed society, because fostering insecurity about one's sexual attractiveness keeps the clothes and makeup manufacturers, and the plastic surgeons et al in business. It is a MONEYMAKING scam. We are led to believe we will shrivel up and die if we don't have sex every night! When I was celibate, I had no worries about disease, pregnancy, or any of the other nonsense associated with it. I could get on with other, more important things, like my relationship with the Infinite. That was more satisfying that any thing else! That is an interesting way of describing a path. I remembered restricting my diet all the time, and the food that my diet mainly composed of was not so satisfying anymore. So, I suppose that the philosophy behind what you mentioned actually makes a lot of sense...at least for me. I am not familiar with the Kaula path, apart from what I read here and there on this thread, but I still found your description in general an interesting one.
