Guest guest
i have been searching forever for a group like this am a 24 year old american woman who wants to know more about shaktism and how one can formally join the sect of shaktism. i have been in love with india ever since i was a little girl and then when i was a teenager i found kali-ma she called to me and ever since than i have been reading every hindu book i could get my hands on. my friends and family think am nuts for wanting to become a shakta hindu but i know that is were i belong if i could and had the money to do it i would move to india and never look back. but hey that is my thoughts and how feel about it if any one has any suggestons just write back or advice i would greatly apperciate it thanks. misty(kalisilverstar) ============================================================= "how one can formally join the sect of shaktism" -- There is no "formality" and there is no "sect". You are either a Shakta or not. "i would move to india and never look back" - Devi is everywhere. You can reach her sitting in your comfortable home. Just ge an authentic Guru learn the basics abd do it. Thats enough. Love Moderator
Guest guest
Misty, I apologize for my tardy response..... Back in October I asked some "getting started" questions. You might find the responses interesting, and perhaps useful. A suggested "First five books" reading list: /message/12042 SE101 also posted a list of his "top five" books; I can't find the message at the moment. About an introductory sadhana: /message/12048 (you can find info on the Khadgamala Stotram by clicking the goddess image on the home page) Another message about introductory sadhana: /message/12094 As far as online information resources go, check the "Links" section of this e-group. , "kalisilverstar" (Misty) > wrote: > > [...] am a 24 year old > american woman who wants to know more about shaktism > [....] i have been > reading every hindu book I could get my hands on. > [....] if any one has any suggestons [...] or > advice I would greatly appreciate it thanks. > > misty(kalisilverstar) > > ============================================================= > > "how one can formally join the sect of shaktism" > -- There is no "formality" and there is no "sect". > You are either a Shakta or not. > > "i would move to india and never look back" - > Devi is everywhere.
