After adjusting to the physical and perceptual changes caused by the drug, I felt elated, full of energy and confidence, and delightfully limber. Around the house were several walkways covered with crushed rocks. Ordinarily, I could not walk on these barefoot. After a few steps, the pain would be too much for me, and the sharp stones would leave indentations on my tender soles. Now I found myself walking barefoot on these same stones with impunity. Not only did they not hurt me, they felt good. I wiggled my feet into them, danced over them, and jumped up and down on them. None of this left any marks on my feet. I was astonished at my ability, also delighted. Next day, I tried to repeat it but could not. The stones hurt and left the usual marks. I have since had other experiences of this sort, at first only under the influence of psychedelics but later without them. Also, I have seen others experiment in similar ways and discover similar abilities. [...] While in this same kind of psychedelic state, I have noticed that I do not react to insect bites. Instead of the usual itching welts, I have nothing to show but tiny red dots that cause no discomfort. Sometimes, when the drugs wear off after twelve hours or the next day, typical allergic reactions to the bites will appear. Sometimes they do not. I have also observed complete disappearance of hay fever and allergic asthma in users of psychedelics, even when those conditions have been intense, persistent, and ongoing at the time of taking the drug. Again, the effect is usually temporary, but sometimes when the conditions reappear, they are muted. [...] Furthermore, the fact of correlation between mental state and allergy is hardly obscure. Many people, both patients and doctors, are aware of it. What is impressive in these psychedelic experiences is how quickly and completely allergies dematerialize when people are truly relaxed and content. It is those states of mind that are key. Undoubtedly, there are many roads to them. Psychedelics make them accessible only under proper conditions of set and setting but might be useful in teaching people how it feels to be free of allergic reactions. I can envision a training program in which patients would have weekly psychedelic sessions in optimal settings after careful preparation to motivate them to control their allergies." Guest guest
Before all of you go for an LSD trip, you should ponder the operative sentences in this LSD report: "Furthermore, the fact of correlation between mental state and allergy is hardly obscure. Many people, both patients and doctors, are aware of it." Do you have so little discipline and faith in yourself that you want the quick LSD fix in order to change your mental state and so change a host of unpleasant challenges in your life? Please be aware of the fact that you could end up without a functioning mind to meet your challenges or to meet your true Divine nature. I have known people who have taken LSD and suffering recurring flashbacks at the most inappropriate times for years. It is not better to take a little longer, do your sadhana, practice yoga/pranayama, watch your diet, think positively and meditate so that you develop the strength of mind, physcial body, astral body and character to withstand the force of Kundalini and the awe of coming in awareness of your own Divinity,. Forget about drugs, alcohol and all those methods that promise a quick fix to your problems but instead creat new problems for you to deal with, including the problem of heightened ego from making some discovery that you thought that you could not make otherwise. Guest guest
We can sure depend on Mr. Killjoy to jump in with his ignorant two cents, can't we? I believe I SAID that "set and setting" are extremely important to the experience; you can bet your bottom dollar that O.P.'s buddies probably "dropped" their acid at some nasty drunken debauch or under some other equally unsuitable conditions, and managed to "imprint" their alleged minds with negative images in the process! That little factor has been the main key element in EVERY case of "bad" LSD experience that I have encountered. The other one is "bad" or contaminated LSD. Eliminate those two factors, and the chance of a "bad" trip drops exponentially!
