Guest guest
To All Concerned: I am sure that there are some here who are amused or titillated by lurid talk of corpses and body fluids and beastiality and whatnot, but may I step in to try and clarify something? This talk is completely useless and unproductive from the perspective of actual sadhana. It's just sensationalism and noise. And though I understand that a few people here may have a deeper understanding of the actual and symbolic practices and meanings, it is pointless to attempt explanation of same in a popular forum of this sort. I will note that, by way of full disclosure, that my inititiatory path is Kaula Srividya. If that is perceived as an insurmountable bias by some, then so be it. But I will add that most, if not the vast majority of Kaulas go thru life and worship without ever needing to call upon these extreme substances. Please understand that Tantra is a methodology that can be applied to a great number of Hindu and Buddhism spiritual paths. Tantra is, in essence, a gigantic toolbox full of practical tools and techniques for addressing a vary array of needs and problems -- from impediments to one's own spiritual progress, to the slightly more material needs and concerns of both strangers and loved ones. Ninety-nine (99%) percent of these tools involve plain old japa and pooja and recitations of prayers and whatnot. A tiny percentage involve the "infamous" panchamakara and aghora type practices that get people all excited and righteous. And so it is intellectually dishonest and philosophically lazy to grab onto this tiny percentage of extreme practices and try to extrapolate and judge the whole from that limited and lurid perspective. It is just talk, and really pointless talk at that. Because none of the practices are revealed in their true usage to those who are not in need of them, or not of the proper character and learning to receive and understand them. So please, if you enjoy these sorts of threads, that is fine. Just know that it is vain and self-indulgent chatter, and not the "real" tantra being discussed -- to repeat, it is sensational tabloid fare for the lurid consumption of the lowest common denominator. To discuss these things without full initiatory training and background, is like deigning to critique and condemn Albert Einstein or Stephen Hawking on the finest points of their most esoteric and specialized theories -- when one barely managed to pass high-school physics.
