Mating with animals

Yes, I have heard of this rite. Also, in Ireland, the

King-to-be had to have sex with a white mare, which

was then sacrificed. Wonder if there is any

connection? Bestiality is much more common than people

think..I read an article not so long ago in one of

those men's mags (Maxim or FHM I think), which had an

article on donkey-screwing in Colombia. Lovely!

Apparently nobody thinks anything of it at all. I

imagine the same goes for any similar country where

people routinely come in contact with farm animals.

Leviticus has injunctions against the practice, which

suggests it was common behaviour; nobody makes laws

against things that are not occurring. I guess some

people can't bear to see a perfectly serviceable

orifice going to waste! I have also heard that women

would keep (male) baboons for companions in the Middle

East, and there was more than one reason that small

"lap" dogs were popular among the female aristocracy!

The closest thing I have heard of it being a religious

practice, however, is that in certain tribes in India,

the women would go into the jungle and offer

themselves to the male apes in order to incarnate

Hanuman, the monkey-god. Supposedly, the children born

of this rite were worshiped as Divine Incarnations. I

have also seen pictures of women nursing baby monkeys

as a similar act of worship. It only serves to show

that ANYTHING at all can be a rite of worship,

provided the intention is in the right place! The main

argument against the practice is that there are

serious germs that can be transmitted to humans this

way..the syphilis spirochete lives innocuously in

sheep, but becomes dangerously virulent when it finds

a human host...this is likely how syphilis found its

way into the human mainstream!
