Guest guest
93 Situation with PETA is usual. When certain things of secondary importance are concidered as the most essential, naturally really essential things are ignored. But it is understandable - to think oneself to be a "protector of animals" or "vegetarian" entartains one's ego. Many people of this kind become so proud of themselves being "pure" and "righteous". I have nothing against vegetarianism for those who like it. Kaulikas have to partake meat ONLY in rituals - in normal life it is just their business and matter of personal liking. But when some "religious" people put vegetarianism above everything (including even God!) it's really ridiculous. It is apparently also so that if people in the animal rights movement do not have any spiritual interest of any kind, there is a strong tendency that PETA and the like become their religion.
