I have seen references to male pisacas. I think it may just be a term for a

species of demon. It is in the Shiva Purana.

Yes I was wondering myself what these words were..I

have seen the word spelled "Pisaca" or

"Pischaca"...there is apparently also a sort of spirit

called a Karna Pischaca which will sit on your left

shoulder and whisper information in your ear ("Karna"

means "ear") Apparently they know all about the

present and past but nothing about the future,

according to the Aghori Master Vimalananda. And

"Kshudra" is merely a variant spelling of "Shudra",

the low caste on the Hindu totem pole.

Yes "Pischasca" is a spirit in general but also has a benefic context

as Arjuna said. Karna Pisaschini is the one who sits on the left ear-

supposedly siddhi in her mantra gives the power of prevision (future

and past) according to classical texts; this is a distinct devata as

opposed to Karna Pischaca who can only tell past.

Kshudra again is as Arjuna said "low" as in Ksudra-devata(demons etc)

It is "pishAcha" in sanskrit and nothing else.

It is not a variant but a different word. As i know not even one text

uses "kshudra" in the place of "shudra"...

Actually I made an error about the Karna Piscachas..it

is a "Karna Pischachini" that sits on your left

shoulder and whispers in your ear.
